Self Presentation (1 of 2)
Representing your work through text and photographic image to funders, exhibition organisers, commissioners, press or a wider audience is an essential part of working as an artist.
Well laid out CV’s, articulately presented artist statements and good quality slides, convey a level of professionalism and allow a ‘decision maker’ to ‘see’ the artist and their work clearly.
Over time an artist will develop a number of ‘tools’ for presentation. Slides, CV’s and artist statements are the most common but increasingly artists also use colour postcards and printed leaflets as a means of self promotion.
Before spending any money it's worth thinking through what kind of impression you need to make and to whom.
This section also holds samples or ‘case studies’ of artists’ promotional material.
