Financial advice for artists
The Artist Resource, in collaboration with Barker & Tyler, is offering low cost financial advice for artists who want to start their own business or who are already self employed.
Barker and Tyler’s aim is to take the fear out of finance and enable artists and arts professionals to implement good practice in financial management and project management skills.
Examples of services available for individual artists include better understanding of the tax and NI system, implications of being self employed, assistance with book-keeping, budgets and self assessment forms.

Services for artists groups include alternative group structures and their implications, multi-stream funding, cashflows & budgets.
Consultations can be made on an individual basis or in small groups to reduce costs, or if you prefer you may attend the Barker and Tyler’s series of "The Balancing Act" workshops.
Mandy Tyler is an accountant and a chartered tax adviser with 20 years experience and has worked with Fabrica, Komedia and Same Sky.
