CAROLYN BLACK, JUDITH JOSSO, KATE ROSS & PLETTS HAQUE
Originally trained as a painter and printmaker Carolyn transferred her attentions to video and web based work in 1997. These have been included in shows at Spacex in Exeter, Chapter arts centre in Cardiff, at two galleries in Australia. Carolyn had just completed a UNESCO digital artist residency in Java.
Judith Josso (with Kate Ross)
Judith was born in Angers in 1970, studied in Valence but now lives and works in Paris. Red’s Cave was first shown at the Musée des Moulages, Lyon in 2000 and was also featured in Judith’s first solo exhibition of her photographic and video work at the Espace Croisé in Roubaix last year. Her work has been shown in Hungary, Montenegro, Uruguay, Switzerland and Germany, however this was the first time it has been seen in Britain.
Josephine Pletts and Usman Haque, Pletts Haque, create exciting multi layered environments that go beyond the conservative architectural norm. Their buildings and designs have included video and audio feedback, live performance, projected poetry, webcasting, electromagnetic radiation and daydreaming. Pletts Haque’s work has been seen in Tokyo, at the ICA, and a new piece will soon be seen as an active element of bus shelters and projected onto tube trains in London.
