Inspired by the dead pan theatricality of representations of the past and future in popular culture and science fiction, Brian Griffiths transforms found and low-tech materials into fantastic new objects.

Whilst Griffiths’ work is carefully crafted, he does not disguise the nature of his materials. The deliberate lack of finish and ambiguous character of his constructions leave room to imagine exactly what they could be and the journeys that they could take you on.

Since graduating with an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London, in 1996, Griffiths has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally. He lives and works in London and is represented by Vilma Gold. Beneath the Stride of Giants was created for a solo exhibition at Camden Arts Centre in 2004, and was later purchased for the Saatchi Collection.
