Paul Sermon was born in Oxford in 1966. He acquired a BA Hons Fine Art degree with Professor Roy Ascott from the University of Wales in 1988 and a Postgraduate MFA degree from the University of Reading in 1991.

Paul Sermon is one of the leading artists who combines the new digital technologies with sculptural installations. His work explores therelationship between physical and digital spaces and how the viewer can telematically exist in both. His multimedia telematic installations have been show at such prestigious organisations as Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany) and at the newly opened InterCommunication Center, (Tokyo Japan). These works include Think about the people now (1990-1992) Telematic Dreaming (1992) Telematic Vision(1993).
