Fabrica are passionate about giving young people the opportunity to develop their own creative practice.


As an Arts Award supporter, Fabrica has been working in partnership with local schools, community and creative organisations to help young peopleachieve their Arts Awards and encouraging their development of a personal sense of creativity, critical thinking and self-confidence. Fabrica works with a broad range of experienced artists and facilitators, and has supported different Arts Awards groups through our formal and informal learning programme, exhibitions tours, events and workshops.



In 2016, Fabrica worked with Photoworks to support a group of 10 young people, who responded the Fabrica’s exhibitions to create written work, collaborative art and film, the results of which were exhibited as part of Fabrica’s Brighton Photo Biennial programme.



What is the Arts Award?


Arts Award gives young people the opportunity to explore art in an inspiring and integrated way, supporting their personal development in critical thinking, collaboration and creativity.Arts Awards is a nationally recognised qualification, enabling them to progress into further education and employment.



There are five levels, four of which (Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold) are accredited qualifications, and form part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Arts Award Discover is an introductory level, for ages 5+.
