FABRICA

IS

FOR ARTISTS

“Fabrica takes the artist idea, helps develop it and turn it into a reality,

adding the magic touches that bring the project alive”,

Martin Parr, artist

Our exhibitions bring exciting, challenging and inspiring art to the city.

But Fabrica is much more than a contemporary art gallery.

Each year, we provide artists the space and support to dream, grow and crystallise their ideas through paid commissions, residencies and mentoring.

“Quite simply working with Fabrica was a catalyst for growth in my practice”,

Thomas Allen, artist

together we can create the art of tomorrow

FABRICA

IS

FOR EVERYONE

“Fabrica is world leading

in the progressive model it has developed

for opening up contemporary art to new audiences.”

Steven Eastwood, artist

“We would love more  of these workshops as  they make our children dream

and become the best they can.”

Holiday lunchclub participant

Some of our most valuable work happens beyond the gallery. Each year, we provide opportunities to draw, make, imagine and create for over 3 000 people in Brighton and Hove, from social housing to GP surgeries and holiday lunch clubs, because we believe creativity in the community changes the world for the better.

CINEMA

30 evenings per year we welcome new audiences and cinephiles alike to our independent pop up cinema.

Fabrica’s film programme is unparallelled in Brighton when it comes to showcasing alternative film and video and presenting a truly diverse range of experiences and views.

In the past year we have hosted pioneering queer film in collaboration with Eyes Wide Open, helped widen perceptions of disability with The Other Screen, put the work of female filmakers centre stage through our Fresh Perspectives’ Visionary women strand and much more.

gather to provide a platform to life changing cinema

For the past 25 years we have been the custodians of the former Holy Trinity Church. Our beautiful Regency building offers the starting point of our site-responsive installations, our heritage events, tours and volunteer-led research projects, and a stunning backdrop to 2500 venue hire customers each year.
