DISCUSSION: Conversation piece Logistics and Power
Time & Location
About The Event
A relaxed and engaging discussion inspired by our current exhibition and led by artist Lorenza Ippolito. Refreshments provided.
Serge Attukwei Clottey’s artworks prompt questions around global trade, the flow of materials and resources, and power structures between the Global North and the Global South.
Focussing on Ghana’s relationship with the Global North, we are joined by Megan Archer, PhD candidate at the University of Brighton, explore: the impact of global trade on the Ghana’s democracy and autonomy, China’s role in Ghana’s latest round of mineral exploitation, and how international agreements, organisations and laws don’t always benefit ordinary Ghaniains.
