Drink & Draw: A Simple Act of Wonder
Time & Location
About The Event
A Simple Act of Wander
Presented in partnership with AMi
For one night only, Artists, Models, iNK will broadcast an online life drawing session with a twist, live from within Fabrica's summer exhibition, A Simple Act of Wonder, by Walter & Zoniel.
Get your mark-making materials ready, and a beverage of your choice, and join us online for a unique opportunity to explore and engage creatively with this vibrant artwork. This is Zoom life drawing, but not as you may know it.
This session is inspired by the ‘flâneuse*’, the feminine form of ‘flâneur’: an idler, a dawdling observer, usually found in cities. Developed during lockdown, AMi began to think about how coronavirus affected our ability to both wander and wonder.
Models Frankie and Kate will create poses lasting up to 15 minutes, using multiple devices to create a three-dimensional life drawing experience.
Two devices will broadcast stationary views, with a third handheld device offering a ’wandering’ angle. Viewers can draw from any angle they choose.
The event will feature an atmospheric soundtrack to immerse you in the space from your home, followed by an online art afterparty with music from model and DJ Kate Shields (headphones recommended!)
This will be Fabrica's first exclusively digitally shown exhibition, which has been specially installed behind closed doors due to coronavirus restrictions.
The exhibition will instead be shared online, alongside a public artwork which is presented in Moulsecoomb & Bevendean. For more information on the work, see here: https://www.fabrica.org.uk/quiet-revelations
Book now to receive the sign up link (hosted on Zoom) and creative supplies in the post. We will send further instructions for the evening, including optional drawing exercises and challenges.
