OUTING: Going to See Culture Together: Strange Relations at Fabrica
Time & Location
About The Event
Going to See Culture Together is a sociable monthly outing to a cultural venue, led by facilitator Jonathan Quarterman.
In October the group will return to Fabrica to explore an exhibition that profiles work by Carys Reilly and Simon Le Boggit and explores extremity and diversity as two interlinked themes. Le Boggit and Reilly produce work at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of scale and subject. Carys Reilly’s series of psychologically charged sculptures, though tiny, powerfully convey bodily intimacy and interiority. In contrast Simon Le Boggit’s expansive video installation, 'Even Giants Have to Bend', fills Fabrica’s 10m high ceiling with the movement and sound of huge trees in a strong wind, immersing the viewers below it.
Join Jonathan to investigate the artwork and share your reflections in a welcoming and relaxed session.
There is a ramp entrance to the ground floor exhibition space and accessible loos on site. Refreshments will be provided during the event.
