About The Event

An invitation to pause, to rest, to listen. We ask you to partake in the subversive act of lying down, to hear stories that bridge difference and distance.

Expect low tech experiments, within an audio journey of fragile beauty.

This March, Fabrica is hosting Cloudspotting, a work-in-progress piece by artist Raquel Meseguer that both creates and explores collective acts of rest. In making this work Raquel Meseguer challenges the current etiquette of public space which favours standing and sitting (the vertical), as opposed to the horizontal (lying down). In this new piece visitors are asked to lie down to hear verbatim stories of people's attempts to rest in public.

During the workshop Raquel will invite you into the space to experience a rough and ready version of her imaginings, to test out the instructions and journey in and out of a horizontal story telling experience, followed by an informal feedback session lasting 20 min (total session time will be approx 50 minutes).

This event is FREE but places are limited so we recommend that you reserve yours in advance.
