Each year, CINECITY takes audiences on adventures in world cinema, bringing the best in festival previews, live cinema experiences, and rediscovered archive treasures to Brighton & Hove.
We’re delighted to once again host part of the CINECITY Film Festival programme here at Fabrica. This annual celebration of international cinema transforms the city into a hub of film culture — showcasing innovative features, documentaries, shorts, and artist film from across the globe.
This year Fabrica will also host Cinefiction, an exhibition of seven cinema posters celebrating female stars from the silent era.
The exhibition features icons such as Greta Garbo in Mata Hari, alongside lesser-known pioneers including Musidora and Asta Nielsen. Each poster is inspired by a 20th-century novel, reflecting the rich relationship between literature and early cinema.
The posters have been created in collaboration with 6970 Design to complement cinefiction.org — an online exhibition that celebrates over a century of cinema-going as depicted in literary fiction.
Ticket holders for CINECITY screenings at Fabrica will be able to view the Cinefiction exhibition immediately before and after their screenings.
